WHEN TO USE REIKI?

Reiki is chi, or life force energy offered in meditation with the intent to create a space of balance, integration, and peace.

We acknowledge that the body-mind heals itself and we simply provide the energetic space for this healing and restoration to occur.

We may choose to offer Reiki to our animals when they have been injured or are coping with an illness or dis-ease. As well, Reiki is beneficial in reducing anxiety and alleviating stress.

Many shelter animals are soon adopted after Reiki sessions. It is as if their Light can truly shine for all to see. This is the power and blessing of Reiki life force healing, held in a space of love.

*Reiki does not heal, cure, treat or prevent disease. It is used as a meditative practice offering space for healing to occur naturally, gently and gracefully.

Reiki energy and its effect our on animals may present differently with each animal, and even from session to session. It may include hands-on healing at the animal's request, sitting in stillness, or walking meditation.

WHO BENEFITS FROM REIKI?

WE ALL DO!

Reiki is a direct intentional meditation with our chi and life force energy. Not only do the animals benefit from this healing meditation, so do we!

Reiki supports energetic and physical healing and is helpful for humans and animals alike.

Often, 'human' Reiki requires the use of hands-on healing. Animal Reiki differs in that we allow the animals to engage in touch at their request.

Sadly, many animals have been abused and human hands have been part of this negative experience. We are especially cognizant of this when working with shelter animals, and other animals which have experienced trauma or abuse.

6 PILLARS

by Kathleen Prasad of Let Animals Lead Reiki ®

1. Reiki as an internal mindfulness practice

2. Touch is used only when animals seek it out, and only as compassionate support

3. An "All Is Well" mindset which allows us to see the animal's perfection in the present moment, rather than what is "wrong"

4. Meditation as a state of mind with flexible physical forms, such as sitting, standing, walking

5. Reiki as a mindfulness meditation practiced "with" our animals, rather than an energy therapy done to them

6. Honoring each animal as a spiritual teacher in their own right, listening and being receptive to their spiritual wisdom and healing gifts
